Kobe Bryant once said “The most important thing is to try and inspire people so that they can be great in whatever they want to do”, and I’d venture a guess that quote alone did just that. There is no words to say when your own personal hero passes away, just quiet reflection on the impact they had in your life no matter how big or small.
The world lost a legend and an icon today when the news broke that Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna died in a helicopter crash this morning.
There are not many times when something like this takes a community and shakes it at it’s core. A community of basketball, a community of sports, all fans and players alike shedding thoughts and tears together.
Not many players changed the game of basketball in the way that Kobe Bryant did, and it’s easy to see why. Unrelenting competitiveness gave way to the “Mamba Mentality” which will forever live on. In fact, Kobe will forever live on………because legends never die they live continue to live on inside all of our minds. Thanks for being an inspiration for millions Mr. Kobe Bryant.
Perhaps his contributions off the court were just as important. It’s beautifully sad that many of our last images we think of when we think of Kobe is with his family, with his daughter, teaching and coaching her into greatness.
